The Charlotte Hornets have secured a major new broadcast partnership with Gray Media to televise games over-the-air to more fans across North and South Carolina starting in October for the 2026-27 NBA season.
Gray Media will bring Hornets basketball to six key markets in the Carolinas, plus Roanoke, Virginia. Games will be available free over-the-air and through participating local cable and satellite providers. The specific stations involved are WHNS in Greenville-Spartanburg-Asheville-Anderson, WCSC in Charleston, WIS in Columbia, WITN in Greenville-New Bern, WMBF in Myrtle Beach, WECT and WSFX in Wilmington, and WDBJ and WZBJ in Roanoke. Each broadcast will include pregame and postgame shows featuring team news, player analysis, and league storylines.
This deal directly addresses a core fan-first commitment from the organization. It removes barriers to watching games for thousands of supporters who may not have access to certain cable packages or streaming services. Making games freely available over-the-air is a significant step in growing the team's regional footprint and connecting with the next generation of Hornets fans.
The Hornets are heading into this expanded broadcast arrangement with positive on-court energy.
The club will announce market-specific game schedules and additional viewing details before the 2026-27 season tips off in October. This partnership with Gray Media's Palmetto Sports & Entertainment Network represents a strategic investment in the team's brand and fan engagement across the Southeast. For the players and coaching staff, the focus remains on finishing the current season strong and building a roster capable of making a playoff push. Increased accessibility should translate to louder support, both in Charlotte and across the newly served regions, as the team works to climb the standings.
